Project description

Background
Methane is one of the most important greenhouse gases, and landfills are the third largest emitter of anthropogenic methane. Different solutions to reduce/eliminate methane emissions from landfills have been implemented or are subject to testing and demonstration in the BSR and EaP. To increase the cross-border transfer of technology and knowledge in a cost-efficient way, this project takes advantage of digital twins and artificial siblings.

Activities
The main activities include formation of a strong project consortium able to provide input data and implement digital twins and artificial siblings, disseminate the results to relevant target groups, and organise a physical/virtual workshop and a study tour to Filborna in Helsingborg where landfill gas is extracted. Several project meetings will take place for the preparation of an application to the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme regarding the implementation of digital twins and artificial siblings as cross-border technology transfer tools.
